On the closing ceremony of the "China (Guangzhou) Lawyer Culture Festival" hosted by Guangzhou Lawyers Association on September 8th, 2018, ten lawyers were presented the awards as “Great Foreign-Related Lawyers of Guangzhou”. Standing out from the fierce competition, James Chen, Managing Partner of Zhuoxin Law Firm, was honorably chosen and awarded as well, which has been a great encouragement to all the Zhuoxin lawyers.

The Year 2018 is the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening-up of China, and also the 30th birthday of Guangzhou Lawyers Association. During these years, the number of lawyers in Guangzhou has risen from only 407 to 13,300, and that of law firms in Guangzhou has also increased to more than 700. What’s more, during this period, establishing an international business environment has become an important measure to enhance the competitiveness of Guangzhou.

Having witnessed the great changes of the international business environment after the reform and opening-up of China, Mr. Chen has been engaged in foreign-related legal service industry for 23 years till now. When being interviewed by the journalists, Mr. Chen has outlined the changes in foreign-related legal service industry in recent years, as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by foreign-related lawyers under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Mr. Chen，now as the Director of the Specialized Committee of Foreign-related Legal Service in Guangzhou Lawyers Association，has been selected as one of the foreign-related lawyers elites by both All China Lawyers Association and Guangdong Lawyers Association, one of the Belt and Road Initiative cross-border attorneys of All China Lawyers Association, and one of the expert lawyers in international business legal affairs by Guangdong Lawyers Association. Mr. Chen has been ranked as the top 20 Client Choice Lawyer by Asian Legal Business (ALB) in 2017, and also been listed into the China's Top 100 Lawyers by China Business Law Journal for consecutive two years since 2016.
